To support Cleveland educators in integrating new technologies in Jewish day schools.
The project created a Technology Integration/Mentoring seminar, a two year seminar that trained a core group of educators from the Jewish Day School in Cleveland to use technology to improve their professional productivity and student learning and to become peer mentors. The program helped schools develop technology plans, train teachers, upgrade computers and networks, develop long distance telecommunication projects, evaluate and purchase new software, and integrate educational technology into their curricula. The participating schools also used technology to strengthen the home-school connection via a web-based project that allows parents, students, teachers, and administrators to access school information at home.
Teachers in the seminar felt supported and empowered to continue their learning and apply their new skills. According to surveys answered after the program, participants judged themselves as having gained proficiencies on a significant portion of 30 different technological skills.
