Join Millions of Mensches – Be a Part of Character Day on September 13th!

With the High Holidays approaching, you’re invited to participate in a timely and dynamic event to prepare your community for this time of reflection: The 4th annual Character Day is happening on September 13th, 2017.

Character Day is about life’s important questions:

  • What kind of person do I want to be?
  • What values do I want to bring to the world (empathy, curiosity, kindness, humor, gratitude)?
  • How can I bring those strengths to the change I want to see in the world?

This year, filmmaker Tiffany Shlain and her team will also be premiering a new film, 30,000 Days, about living a life with meaning and purpose.

In addition to the screening of Tiffany’s short films, by signing up for Character Day you will also be provided with free discussion kits and online resources and access to a global online Q&A, featuring leaders in the field of character development and Mussar from all different perspectives.

Past Character Day speakers have included Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Jane Eisner, editor-in-chief of The Forward, Alan Morinis, leading figure in the contemporary revival of the Mussar movement.

Character Day is completely free, and your Character Day event(s) can look and feel any way you would like them to (any time of the day, anywhere, and any size). The Character Day team will provide your group with films, the Periodic Table of Character Strengths Poster, printed discussion materials, a robust online hub of resources, and an online conversation with leading experts on Character education from multiple perspectives.

Last year there were over 93,000 events in 124 countries and all 50 states participated by screening the award-winning films from Tiffany Shlain, the director of “The Tribe,” including The Making of a Mensch film (10 mins), which explores the importance of developing character strengths through the teachings of Mussar.
